with Roger Flinchum
Fly tying is usually, but not always, of interest to fly-fishermen. It does require good vision, finger dexterity, and lots of patience. It is a good winter activity for fly fishermen and might save some money as well as providing an outlet for creativity. Mr. Flinchum can provide tying tools for three of the students, requiring the other two to provide their own. Guidance as to buying tools and supplies will be available both before and during the semester.
Note: Students will be contacted to discuss needed tools. A small fee will be charged to cover materials used in the class.
Roger Flinchum has been fly-fishing for fifty years, teaching fly-casting for thirty years, and tying flies for his own use for forty years. Though he is not a professional fly-tyer he has had requests to do a fly-tying class by some of his students and friends.
